Anthony (Tony) L. Smothers Jr., J.D., is an experienced legal professional with
international legal training spanning UK common law, Louisiana civil law, and
U.S. common law. Holding a J.D. from Southern University Law Center, and a
B.A. in Political Science from the University of Louisville. His legal experience
includes litigation, arbitration, mediation, corporate governance, contracts, probate
and trust matters, property transactions, criminal and civil proceedings,
comparative legal research, and now most recently personal injury as the Intake
Specialist at Forman & Associates.

Throughout his career, Tony has developed practical experience as a legal assistant,
a legal research assistant, and excelled in law clerk positions in both the United
States and United Kingdom. He has conducted international comparative legal
research, drafted legal motions and partnership agreements, assisted with trial
preparation, negotiated trust agreements, and worked directly with clients and
supervising attorneys.

Tony was the 2022 University of Birmingham Postgraduate Cup Moot Court Champion, served as Vice-Chair of the Southern University Law Center Moot Court, and worked as a Legal Research Assistant at the University of Birmingham and Southern University Law Center. His additional credentials include the Marshall Brennan Fellow, Thurgood Marshall College Foundation Scholarship Recipient, and holds certificates from IBM’s Data Science Certification and LSU’s Litigation Ready course allowing for a broad understanding to make decisive decisions that benefit the clients.
